I HATE Being Right...

I said it twice (Nov. 21st and Nov. 29th) : Penn State's out of conference schedule was not going to be good enough to make the Big Dance.

Do I think we were better than Arizona and Maryland? Not necessarily.

But if Miss. St. and USC had not won their conference tournaments, we'd be dancing--no doubt about it. If we would have beaten Purdue or Iowa over the last three games? We're in. Had we beaten Rhode Island and at least played, if not beat, Villanova in November? We're in.

We were just one more game away from the Dance.

Now, hopefully we play with a chip on our shoulder in the NIT and win the thing. There is still much growth that this team has ahead of them--both this year and as a program. This set-back must be used as a motivating factor for all players not named Talor Battle and for the front office who schedules the out of conference games.

Bottom line: I'm VERY proud of this team and Coach DeChellis, but there is still work to be done.
